An extraordinary silver chandelier with eight arms of light, with acanthus leaves, lions, paws, masks, horses of the House of Hanover, and two putti supporting the Royal Crown. Marks of Balthasar Friedrich BEHRENS after a design of the King’s architect William KENT. Germany, 1735-1736. Two identical chandeliers figure in the British Royal Collection.
