This large sofa is an invitation to lie down comfortably. It was made by Jean-Jacques Pothier; it beautifully complements the curves in Tom Wesselmann’s large painting. He was one of the most famous painters of the American pop art movement.
Tom Wesselmann became famous for his series of paintings “Great American Nude”. He then painted female body parts; in this one, he depicted a foot. He combined them with objects that can be found in a bedroom. The curves of the Louis XV-style sofa harmonise beautifully with this work of art.

It is an invitation to lie down comfortably and admire delicate engraved, moulded, gilded curves, as well as flowers, interlacing and heart-shaped patterns, and acanthus leaves.
